Melodrama, menace and mirth: the sixth Wagons album, Acid Rain and Sugar Cane, is a vision of 1970s Vegas glam and gloom as seen through a Campari soaked lens. With equal parts lounge and lizard, frontman Henry Wagons leads his band through a multitude of genres, from classic rock to bad boy boogie, gangsta country and prog rock, often in the same song.

Tanya Tagaq’s new album, Animism, will be out on Six Shooter Records on May 27, 2014. Album Trailer features the song “Umingmak.”

Whitehorse announces a 30-day Kickstarter Pre-Sale for the new full-length album, Leave No Bridge Unburned, to be released in February 2015. The campaign will include fans in the process of making and releasing the album, with incentives such as listening parties, studio hangs, participation in selecting key tracks, etc.

Battle-scarred Americana trailblazer Mary Gauthier returns with a new album, Trouble & Love, and new Canadian label home on Six Shooter Records.

It’s been six years since the last NQ Arbuckle album was released. The story of the time in between XOK and The Future Happens Anyway (coming April 29, 2014) isn’t one of drama or tragedy, band hiatus or break-up.

The concert in Hawrelak may be over at 10pm, but that doesn’t mean the party has to stop. Join Interstellar Rodeo’s wine curator, Gurvinder Bhatia, at the secret wine party on Saturday night featuring Interstellar Rodeo performers and other secret guests and, of course, lots of wines from around the world. There may even be a food truck or two. The location of the party will be tweeted beginning at 10pm. The location will be in central Edmonton.

The moment is finally here. We started booking this summer’s line up as soon as last year’s festival closed, and we’re completely stoked about the incredible expanse of artists who will be joining us this summer.

Éphémère sans repère offre des versions françaises de quelques-unes des pièces qui figuraient sur les deux premiers opus de Whitehorse, dont le second, The Fate of the World Depends on this Kiss, avait été accueilli à sa sortie par un concert d’éloges.
