The Dead South’s Good Company Turns 10

Gold-Certified, Career-Changing Album Now Available in Dolby Atmos Edition
Headlining Calgary Stampede and Festival d'été
Chains & Stakes World Tour Arrives in Canada in October, 2024

The Dead South mark the 10th anniversary of their first full-length album, Good Company, recorded live off the floor in Regina, SK, with a new Dolby Atmos spatial audio version and collectors’ edition vinyl. Now with over 1 billion streams worldwide, Good Company has played a major role in The Dead South’s story: a career-changing launchpad for the band’s global success, a calling card for their community, and the spirit of camaraderie that unites their fanbase around the world.

The impact of Good Company’s success, much more than the viral video for “In Hell I’ll Be In Good Company,” continues as The Dead South grow and reach milestones such as their Grand Ole Opry debut (February 2024). With songs such as lore-building “The Dead South” and “Honey You” and “The Recap,” Good Company is an album that remains in setlist and playlist alike, still a faithful reflection of the band’s brotherhood and signature musical approach.

“We set out to record with just a few dozen live shows on our resume,” says banjoist Colton Crawford. “As a group, we decided that we wanted a very real feel to this album, so we decided to record it live off the floor. We didn’t know then that one of the tracks – a weird song with dark lyrics, only featuring banjo, cello, vocals and finger snaps – would change our lives. The fact that we’re still here ten years later, doing what we love, is incredible.”

Since its release in 2014, The Dead South’s Good Company has been certified Gold in Canada, Platinum in USA (single), appeared alongside international superstars in charts ranging from Spotify Daily Viral, Shazam Daily Top Tracks, YouTube Top Songs and more, and heard in major film, television and gaming projects.
