This year, Whitney Rose’s road to AmericanaFest starts in Travis County, Texas, where Rose has settled and recorded a new song, “My Boots,” that speaks to self-acceptance. “My Boots” shows the lighter side of Rose’s songwriting. “While it’s ostensibly just about wearing whatever the hell you wanna wear,” Rose says, “it’s also about embracing the quirks and flaws that make you, you.” Rose walks the walk in her custom cactus and rose Liberty cowboy boots, a sparkly nod to her identity.

Whitney Rose announces an extensive North American Summer Tour that goes from Texas Hill Country’s legendary Luckenbach Dancehall to the east coast, including, fittingly, multiple appearances at Hill Country Live outposts (Manhattan, Brooklyn and later DC) along the way. The tour also retraces Rose’s own career path, crossing back into Canada with stops in fabled Prince Edward Island, Rose’s actual birthplace, and Toronto, her musical origin.
