New Album For Eden Arrives July 19, 2024
RANGE Cover Story Out Now

In “Your Love (Where It’s At),” Boy Golden expresses his strongest emotions with his gentlest acoustics. The song puts words to the feelings of being grateful for, fulfilled with, and even made courageous by someone’s love. From forthcoming For Eden, the strums are soft like the glow of last light, as day shifts to night in a swirl of pinks and purples. Recorded to cassette as was the album as a whole, “Your Love (Where It’s At)” is about what’s essential, told with the barest necessities. Accompanying the release is a tender acoustic video that honors the intimacy of the song.

Of the song, Boy Golden muses, “I write songs to help me understand and articulate concepts and feelings that I cannot unearth through any other means.  This is a simple song that helped me explore my relationship with my version of God; a notion that I have a hard time expressing in any other way, except very simply: love keeps me warm, keeps me safe, is all I need. Love is always there for you. Love has got your back. There is nothing to know, no one to ask. You can trust that love will show you the way.”

For Eden arrives at an exciting time in Boy Golden’s world, as he readies for his second headline tour of North America this fall. 2023’s EP For Jimmy and his debut, Church of Better Daze, have put Boy Golden in the company of the rising stars of indie folk artists blending everything that’s good, like Faye Webster, Sierra Farrell, and Madi Diaz.

Boy Golden appears on RANGE Magazine’s digital cover for July. Read the full feature, “Searching For Eden,” here.

About Boy Golden:

Boy Golden is Liam Duncan and a revolving cast of longtime friends and collaborators known as the Church of Better Daze (many formidable artists in their own right) including FONTINE, Austin Parachoniak, Roman Clarke, Dani Nash and more. Boy Golden found success on his debut LP, Church of Better Days, with breakout hit “KD and Lunch Meat” hitting #1 at Canadian Alternative radio. Subsequent tours saw sell-outs across the country, a festival headline play at Winnipeg Folk Fest, slots at Osheaga, Edmonton and Calgary Folk Festivals, Rifflandia, Saskatoon Jazz Festival and more, demonstrating Boy Golden’s ability to be a musical chameleon and fit in just as well at a country festival as he does at a rock show. The last year saw the band touring across the US with the Paper Kites and Lucero, and a breakout slot at AmericanaFest in 2023 resulting in being signed by talent giant WME. Liam is also a producer and prolific songwriter, collaborating with William Prince, Leith Ross, Cat Clyde, FONTINE, and many more.
