Peter Dreams Shares “Keep Me Free” Video

Debut Single from New Solo Project

“Keep Me Free,” the debut single from Peter Dreams, the new solo project of Peter Dreimanis (July Talk), gets an official video that meets the song’s vibrational energy. A free-wheeling summertime cruiser, “Keep Me Free” channels coming-of-age storytelling with its rebellious and exuberant commitment to freedom and love.

The video for “Keep Me Free” was filmed in New Orleans, where Dreimanis is currently on location for his first major acting role in Ryan Coogler’s new project alongside Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell and Lola Kirke, among others. An instant time capsule of his current creative whirlwind, the video conveys a palpable sense of flux and joy.

Directed by Toronto’s boy wonder, whose film credits include music videos for Dizzy and a short documentary with Mac DeMarco and Matty Matheson, “Keep Me Free” was shot on 16mm film and produced by RAINBOW LAND.

“Keep Me Free” begins to reveal the direction of Peter Dreams, a brand new project from one of the most instantly recognizable voices in alt rock. An artful, instinct-led exploration, Dreimanis’ solo endeavour is sourced in a dizzy mix of anticipation, hesitation and introspection that accompanies the future, as it arrives.

Peter Dreams first introduced the new project on stage, performing select shows with collaborators MOONRIIVR including M for Montreal and Block Heater with Tanya Tagaq and U.S. Girls. This summer, curious music fans can see Peter Dreams at Hillside Festival, with more performances to be announced.
