Comin’ down the plains, Captain Tractor’s East of Edson (Revisited), a special 30th anniversary edition, arrives today. The reimagined album, with newly recorded parts and other updates, reflects the band’s changed lineup and the evolution of the music over decades. To celebrate this milestone, Captain Tractor will play sold out shows in Edmonton and Calgary this month.
As the home of “The Last Saskatchewan Pirate,” East of Edson is a major part of Captain Tractor’s story as an indie band who DIY’d their way to commercial success, loyal fans, and a place in prairie music history. With the Top 40 hit of album opener, “Up the Hill,” the poignant ballads of “West Coast Rain,” and “Talk,” and the raucous rollover-ready party anthems throughout, East of Edson (Revisited) showcases their signature high-energy folk punk sound. Heard on Due South, Much Music and at CFL and NHL games to this day, East of Edson has truly made its mark.

Original, unconventional and fiercely independent, Captain Tractor has been a fixture of the prairie music scene for three decades. In addition to shows in Edmonton and Calgary, Captain Tractor will make a special acoustic in-store appearance at Edmonton’s Curmudgeon Records on April 12, 2025 for Record Store Day. The Starlite show on April 18th, 2025 will also be live-streamed for free around the world.
