THE DEAD SOUTH SIGN TO SIX SHOOTER RECORDS. NEW MUSCLE SHOALS-MADE ALBUM DUE IN THE FALL.

100 MILLION MILESTONE: Video for “In Hell I’ll Be In Good Company” continues to surge.

Sold out 2300-cap London, UK show, Red Rocks date with Trampled By Turtles set for July 24, more big tour news coming.

It’s a banner month for The Dead South, a four-piece bluegrass band from Regina, SK. The group’s upcoming London, UK show just sold out (2300 tickets), as have multiple other UK and European dates. Their video for “In Hell I’ll Be In Good Company” crossed the 100 million view mark on YouTube. The band just returned home from Muscle Shoals, Alabama, with a new album in hand. This record, their third full-length and first since 2016, will be released by their new label, highly regarded Toronto independent Six Shooter Records. “The Dead South is a family,” reads a statement from the band. “We find it very important to surround ourselves with people we enjoy, people who believe in us and people who will fight for us. Also, people who like to get shit done. Thankfully, these are all things Six Shooter provides. We would like to welcome them into our family.”

2018 was a year of recognition at home and exciting growth on the road. At the JUNO Awards, the first-time nominees won Traditional Roots Album of the Year and were also nominated for Breakthrough Group of the Year. They also won both of their first Western Canadian Music Award nominations in October. Outside Canada, The Dead South were floored to see huge responses from their American fans; on only their second tour of the USA, they sold out large shows in LA, Denver, Nashville, Minneapolis and more.

2019 is shaping up to be a year of even bigger milestones. The band is confirmed to join Trampled By Turtles and Deer Tick at Red Rocks on July 24, 2019. There are already nearly 20,000 tickets sold for 2019 UK and EU tour dates. The Dead South’s forthcoming album, expected this fall, is their first recorded outside their hometown. “We just got home from recording our most bangin’ album yet,” says Colton Crawford. “Before we even get our feet warm we’ll be out the door and on our way to the UK to show you all what we’ve been up to.”

The Dead South have built a fervent worldwide fanbase and sold nearly 100,000 records through grassroots discovery and support. Six Shooter Records is thrilled to welcome these hugely talented and hard-working artists to both label and management rosters. Helen Britton and Chris Wynters of our management company have been working with The Dead South for a year now,” says label president Shauna de Cartier. “We are absolutely delighted to welcome them to the label. This is a fantastic band, and together we are going to climb new heights.”
