The result is the newest release by the finger-snapping foot-stomping quartet. One part nostalgic and two parts dark and desperate, The Dead South put their distinct bluegrass spin on the childhood classic. With haunting harmonies, tell-tale banjo picking, and the eerie intensity of cello, this is “You Are My Sunshine” like you’ve never heard before.
