KEEP THE HORIZON AHEAD OF YOUR GAME: AMELIA CURRAN ON TOUR.
Celebrated songwriter Amelia Curran returns to the road this spring with tour dates that crisscross Canada. In addition to the headline shows listed below, Amelia will also join the bill as opener for The Rheostatics’ upcoming Live at Massey Hall concert on April 29, 2016, marking nearly ten years since the iconic band’s official farewell show at the same venue in 2007. This will be the first time Amelia brings her own material to Massey’s hallowed stage.
Curran’s last trip west took her to Kamloops, where she performed a new song, “The Ballad of Marie Philip Poulin,” for Hockey Day in Canada’s annual concert, again organized by Dave Bidini. Curran is the first in the history of the event to write a song about women’s hockey.
Amelia Curran’s most recent album, They Promised You Mercy, received a Juno nomination last year, making it her third in a row to receive the nod.
