HARDCORE ACQUISITION
SIX SHOOTER INC. BRINGS IN A NEW BOOKKEEPER WHO KNOWS WHAT ARTISTS NEED (BECAUSE HE IS ONE).
Six Shooter Inc. announces Tim MacMillar, founding member of metal band Protest the Hero, has joined the management team as artist bookkeeper. Those familiar with MacMillar through his music might not know that the guitarist has been his band’s administrative backbone for years, and his involvement in the business side of things has been an incredible asset.
MacMillar brings all of his impressive road-tested accounting experience to the company. “I’ve always been very hands on with the business management with Protest The Hero,” says MacMillar. “I want to help others feel comfortable with their finances so they can focus on continuing to make music.”
“It’s an area that I believe is neglected by many musicians, but is such an integral part to having success in music. When the position at Six Shooter became available, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to work in an area I’m passionate about with people I respect in the industry.”
Management company president Helen Britton emphasizes the pride taken in providing the management roster with skilful administrative support: “Striving for excellence in administration, bookkeeping and tax filing is a core value at Six Shooter. I’m thrilled to welcome Tim to our team. No one understands an artist’s needs more than an artist himself. His experience as co-manager of Protest the Hero, in tour management and in administration of Sheet Happens makes him a perfect candidate for this role.”
In MacMillar, Six Shooter Inc. has found not only a savvy and capable bookkeeper, but another unique and impressive human to welcome to the team. MacMillar takes over the position from Kim Temple, who recently moved to the label side to run the newly created Publishing & Licensing Department.
