This week’s lyric postcard brings us back to the days of Amelia’s Curran’s Six Shooter debut, the album War Brides. The song “Everything I’ve Got To Give,” is a real stunner, and we’ve heard Amelia describe it as the closest thing to a country duet she’s ever written.

Amelia Curran’s song “Blackbird On Fire” is our second pick for the lyric postcard series. It’ll cost you but a few nickels to put a stamp on this beauty and send it on its way.

If it’s difficult to describe the method and madness of Nick Buzz, it’s even harder to classify Martin Tielli’s new video for “The Hens Lay Every Day.” Part Monty Python, part American Gothic dance party, all Tielli, the new video is a perfect match for the song’s delirious, off-kilter sensibility.

Amelia Curran writes lyrics that come to exist beyond her songs, for their insight, humour and deeply poetic worldview. And so, we decided to pick a few of our favourites and have them made into postcards, real postcards, that we encourage you to send by mail to someone who needs to hear from you.
