William Prince Shares ‘Goldie Hawn’ and ‘Easier and Harder’ Today
Today William Prince shares two more songs from Stand in the Joy, including “Goldie Hawn,” an ode to the beauty, talent and grace of great women, and one in particular, and “Easier and Harder,” an homage to John Prine.
“’Easier and Harder’ is about giving love a chance to mature,” says Prince. “The lessons we learn when we get past the honeymoon stage. The benefits of not giving up and getting to love someone entirely; not only for their strengths but their shortcomings as well. There’s a comedy to it that I feel gives a peek into what long-term love is like. Live and learn. Give and take.”

Since the announcement of new album Stand in the Joy, William Prince has been on the move, making his debut at the Grand Ole Opry in February. As told to CTV, to perform on the historic stage was a milestone in many ways. “To go there and be a representative of the Peguis First Nation, of Canada our home nation, and to go step on that legendary stage – it’s about as big as it gets for a songwriter and singer,” he said.
It doesn’t stop there. In addition to recent shows in NYC, LA and Nashville, Prince has also taped a forthcoming CBS Saturday session, which airs March 11, 2023. He next travels to Austin for a series of SXSW performances, including a special performance at Potluck, Luck Reunion’s annual fundraising dinner for Farm Aid. Later this Spring Prince will join The War and Treaty’s tour across the USA, see full tour dates below.
Prince is as busy at home. Tomorrow, Saturday, March 4, he performs at the Winnipeg Jets game as part of important Winnipeg Aboriginal Sport Achievement Centre (WASAC) Night programming that includes the Jets and Oilers wearing Indigenized sweaters, Plains Cree broadcast and more. Read on about WASAC Night and Follow Your Dreams Day initiatives here.
Stand in the Joy, produced by Dave Cobb, arrives April 14, 2023.
