Soft Serve Sunset: Peter Dreams Releases “Come Save Me”

With the off-kilter velocity of a tilt-a-whirl, a new song by Peter Dreams calls out the blurry line between pride and insecurity. In “Come Save Me,” out today, Peter Dreams joins backing band MOONRIIVR to send their 3-minute ride spinning this way and that, with jolts of farfisa and sax making a sideways Stereolab-meets-Nick Cave swirl.

The excessive, unsubtle swagger of “Come Save Me” is a foil to a deeper, more delicate truth about overconfidence and the human condition: our self-doubt will be waiting for us at the end of the ride.

A different wild-eyed side of one of the most recognizable voices in alt rock, the Peter Dreams solo project turns on a new axis. An artful, instinct-led exploration, the songs of Peter Dreams are sourced in a dizzy mix of anticipation, hesitation and introspection that accompanies the future, as it arrives. “Come Save Me” is the second solo song released to date.

“Come Save Me” is out today on Six Shooter Records. Listen here.
