LUKE DOUCET GETS FESTIVE

Apparently chives are supposed to be annual, one time only type joints, but I’ll be damned if those suckers don’t just come back every year once you plant ’em. Ol’ Luke Doucet is totally the chive in the vast garden of festival season. He just keeps coming back for more, and, uh he goes well with baked potatoes (sorry, I didn’t really think through the chive analogy). What I’m getting at though, is Luke Doucet is a perennial festival favourite and this summer is no different. With his rocking’ rock band, The White Falcon, in tow, Luke kicks it off this Saturday at the Burlington Sound of Music Festival, and then over to the Harbourfront Amphitheatre (now called the WestJet stage, by mere coincidence that has nothing to do with the airline WestJet other than them paying a speculated buttload of money to rename it, maybe) on Canada Day. Other festivals Luke is going to jam include Folk on the Rocks in Yellowknife, NWT, Canmore Folk Festival, Burnaby Roots & Blues Festival, Eaglewood Folk Festival, and capping off the summer with a rocking set at the Shelter Valley Folk Festival on Labour Day weekend. Holy festivoli! He will also be playing select club dates, including Wakefield, Calgary, and Edmonton (home of the longest stretch of public parkland in North America, which will be lovely for a running enthusiast such as Luke). Yay summer!
