BOY GOLDEN - MOUNTAIN ROAD

I left who I was in them Blue Hills
Found myself heading out East
Why do we travel, leave one place to get to another? Is it a fundamental part of being human, the need to change our surroundings in hopes that it might change us? On Boy Golden’s “Mountain Road”, we find the Church of Better Daze minister shedding his proverbial robes in the Blue Hills in search of the holy mountain.
Walking through the parking lots lost in your thoughts
now you're standing at the No Frills alone
Every verse on “Mountain Road” is like a parable, a helpful word for anybody who has struggled with a sense of self, identity or belonging. Its gentle momentum of swaying acoustic guitars pushes us upward and forward, taking us on an introspective journey to find out who we are — and shows us who Boy Golden has found in himself.
I met myself in a friend’s basement. Stopped drinking beer for a while.
Been wearing the same thing for coming a year, but I'm thinking of changing my style.
As he sheds one layer for another, Boy Golden’s sweet voice lifts us up from the depths and reminds us that it’s going to be okay even when things do change — even if you change. The road may not always be easy, and we might sometimes find ourselves alone, but when we get to the top of it all, the panoramic view unfolds like a map to our hearts. As the saying goes, Wherever you go, there you are. At the peak of “Mountain Road” we are bursting with answers, resplendent in joy and clarity. Life on the road holds a simple rule: as long as you keep going, you still have a purpose. We’ve all got somewhere to go.
