--SIX SHOOTER RECORDS ON THE ROAD--
SIX SHOOTER BULLETS – VOL.21 NO. 2
I don’t know about you, but I had kind of a weird summer. Ok, maybe not quite as weird as last summer, or the summer before that, but still kind of weird. It kind of felt like I had three months of spring, and then bam, it’s suddenly sweater weather and all the Six Shooter artists are suddenly on tour. What the heck?!
It’s going to be pretty lonely around the Six Shooter office while all of our artists (who normally just sit around our office making photocopies and stuff when they aren’t on tour) are out there pounding the pavement. We are going to miss them a lot while they are away entertaining you good people of the world, but thankfully in this magical era of smartphones we know that they will send us a steady stream of text messages telling us about their big days and adventures, awww.
Whitehorse, July Talk, Deep Dark Woods, Elliott BROOD, The Dead South, Skye Wallace, William Prince, Boy Golden, and Rheostatics all have shows lined up for the near future, whether in the mystical land of Canada, old-timey Europe, rootin’ tootin’ Tennessee, or, uh, some of the other places in the world (it’s a big place, I can’t name ‘em all right now). Some of these artists have new music and all of them have new back-to- school tour outfits to show off, and it’d be a crime not to let ‘em strut a little bit, now wouldn’t it?
Want to be the person at the show who is already singing along to the new jams before the album is even out? Not to worry — We’ve got you! New music from Skye Wallace and Whitehorse awaits! Skye just announced her debut album “Terribly Good” with a mind-melting and steel-smelting music video for her single “Tooth and Nail,” which as an added bonus offers very detailed instructions on how to build your own guitar within the first minute of the video (and equally detailed instructions on how to defeat evil Skye Wallace in the last minute... it is all-in-all a very informative video). Whitehorse on the other hand have gone full yeehaw with two beautiful new Country singles “Division 5” and “Leave Me As You Find Me” off of their upcoming album, “I’m Not Crying, You’re Crying.” Ok, maybe not full yeehaw, but a solid partial yeehaw for sure. Maybe like 70% yeehaw?
SO, if you’re reading this (which I imagine you are, if you just read the words “if you’re reading this”), this is your official recommendation to quit your job, buy some cowboy boots (or comfortable sneakers, your choice), and buy tickets to every single show by all of our artists and just become a wandering Six Shooter nomad for the next few months (you can extend that to “for life” if you want). See ya on the road, traveller. In spirit, mostly, but we will def be living that tour life with you vicariously while working on grant applications or filling out spreadsheets, or whatever it is we do over here.
