Welcome back to The Horizon Line, the place to find the newest singles and classic cuts from Six Shooter's 20 year catalogue.

This week, Whitehorse is back with a gorgeous and gauzy (and of course Gretsch-soaked) tribute to California dream pop guitarist David Roback of Mazzy Star. Whitehorse's version captures the woozy romance of the original, reimagined here as a duet.

Whitehorse are going to be busy in the studio in the coming months, hitch your wagon to their new Patreon page here.

In case you missed recent live streams from the Six Shooter world, you can relive the magic of the living room concert from the comfort of your own home.

This Little Light of Mine / House of the Rising Sun

In our latest edition of The Horizon Line, we have a double dose of delight and danger with two new covers courtesy of The Dead South.

"This Little Light of Mine" is a classic of the traditional folk songbook, recorded during the Good Company sessions in Regina in 2014. The Dead South are sending this one out to all the front line workers: "Thank you to everyone who is treating, delivering, growing, stocking, driving and caring for others during this time. We send love and gratitude to you and your families."

"House of the Rising Sun,” recorded by The Dead South in Hamburg, Germany in 2015, is a bit of an unsavoury tale (which makes it a perfect choice for them). From The Animals to Alt-J, there are many great versions of this folk classic. Give The Dead South's take a spin, you won't come back the same.

In other news, The Dead South’s hit "In Hell I’ll Be In Good Company" was just certified gold in the USA! We are celebrating with a dance party. Click above to find out how you can join in the fun.

NQ ARBUCKLE - LOVE SONGS FOR THE LONG GAME

This week’s edition of The Horizon Line brings long-awaited new music from NQ Arbuckle, our first signings. The Toronto songwriter returns with “Love Songs For The Long Game,” a gorgeous, poignant tune that fits these uncertain times with its message about sticking with those you love, and sticking with what you love. Complete with a melancholic Ginsberg reference and a few signature NQ digs at modern life, “Love Songs For The Long Game” will stick with you, too.

Fun fact: On “Love Songs For The Long Game,” NQ reunites with fellow Six Shooterer Luke Doucet as producer. Doucet produced NQ’s 2002 cult classic debut, Hanging The Battle-Scarred Piñata.
