OUTLAWS & GUNSLINGERS NXNE SHOWCASE
We teamed up with our best buddies at Starfish Entertainment to present the OUTLAWS & GUNSLINGERS SHOWCASE at Lee's Palace on Thursday, June 19 @ 8pm. We've wrangled a superb lineup of bands and artists to share time on stage, with surprise guests rounding out the night. The lineup includes The Swallows, Jim Cuddy, Royal Wood, Oh Susanna, Kevin Hearn, Jason Plumb, Jenn Grant, Luke Doucet, Justin Rutledge, NQ Arbuckle, and Skydiggers. Plus some very special guests who we can't talk about! The 9 songwriters listed will be passionately backed by Blue Rodeo rhythm section Bazil Donovan and Glenn Milchem. It's going to be a great night -- see attached invite.
BBQ!
No NXNE would be complete without the annual Six Shooter Back Lot BBQ, and we're fixin' to make this year's party a real barn burner. Put on yer justins (cowboy boots, to you city folk) and light a shuck (hurry on over) to the Back Lot behind our store at 1118 Queen Street East. This year's blowout happens Saturday, June 20, 2pm-6pm, again in cahoots with our neighbours Damzels in this Dress and Steamwhistle. Hosted by NQ Arbuckle, other guest spots include performances by Rose Cousins, Royal Wood, Jenn Grant, Michael Rault, Jason Plumb, Victoria Hume, Martin Tielli, Luke Doucet, Justin Rutledge, and The Beauties. RSVP to fire@sixshooterrecords.com.
ROCK PAPER PIXELS ART OPENING
Also on June 20 is the grand opening of Beth Hamill's photography exhibit, Rock Paper Pixels. Beth is a blogger and photographer extraordinaire, and we're proud to showcase these amazing photographs of our favourite artists. The show will be on display until July 12, so if you can't make the BBQ, drop by another time and check it out.
