CEEEMDUBYA

We want to remind you all to come hang out with us at our upcoming CMW shows in Toronto this weekend. Valery Gore and & Justin Rutledge kick the festival off with a show at the Rivoli from 8 pm - 10 pm, and NQ Arbuckle shines a light on Saturday at 9 pm at Lee's Palace. What we mean by that is that he will be performing, not operating the lights. He tried that once and seared off his eyebrows (you'd never guess, but he actually wears eyebrow wigs now. True story...sort of).

We promise to give away lots of bitchin' prizes...we always do...giving makes us feel warm and fuzzy...kind of like my teeth did when I woke up this morning...ew.

NQ CYBERBUCKLE 2000

No one loves the internet more than NQ Arbuckle except for maybe that sissy Bill Gates who is in my bad books right now anyway because my hotmail account is all buggered. NQ has been all slobbery about digital download sites like Puretracks.com and iTunes.com (and others like archambaultzik.com) from the beginning, and (in exchange for wiping his chin every now and then) he has really whipped our six shooter butts into shape with all this cyberweb business. Nothing would fill him with more glee than if you visited him on one of these smutty internet sites that we’ve heard so much about, and tried downloading a few tracks!

If you want to obtain NQ Arbuckle's new album the old-fashioned way, Last Supper in a Cheap Town hits the stores TOMORROW! Yeah!

ZUNIOR

You know who else loves the internerd? Zunior. Zunior may even love the internet as much as NQ. Zunior.com is another one of these Chiefin' sites where you can download tracks (in the biz we call songs tracks, cool eh?) from all your fave artists. Like the Rheostatics for example. Now available: "The Rheostatics in concert in 1992 at the Bathurst St. Theatre to launch their seminal album, 'Whale Music'". Harpoon it today!

Back in 1992, the Rheostatics actually predicted in 2005 there will be flying cars, food will be replaced by space pills, and our show this weekend will be available for download on the internet. Whaddya know, they were right (except for the first two, but we're expecting both of those by 2010). Take that nay-sayers!

MY GIRL WANTS TO PARTY ALL THE TIME

2005 is already turning out to be a tinsel and confetti type of year for Six Shooter. We started out by shaking off the January blues with an amazing Luke Doucet show at the Trinity. Then came Justin Rutledge's CD launch...a crazy sold out show featuring a great set by openers Elliott Brood followed by a mesmerizing performance by Justin and his handsome band. Many sorries to the fine folks who were turned away. The room was stuffed with more people than a cannoli has ricotta...or whatever the kids are saying these days. Please come and check out Justin's CMW show, it's gonna be bangin'. Next up is the highly-anticipated and wonderful sophomore release by NQ Arbuckle, in stores tomorrow! And then there is the party band of all time, Captain Tractor, who is so good at partying that they invented a whole new beer to christen their new album (in stores March 15). Paaaaaaaaaaarty!

See below for tour dates for all artists.

Ever had one of those parties where your neighbors are calling the police because your pictionary game is getting so intense that they think you are hosting illegal dog fights? Well our party is so loud, we're waking the neighbours...across the ocean! Whooooaaa! Our debut UK release, NQ's Hanging the Battle-Scarred Pinata, is already making fans out of the press, with airplay on BBC 2 and upcoming reviews in Mojo, Uncut, and Time Out. Man, we'll never get this place clean before our parents get home.

College Days, College Nights

Listen for The Weakerthans and Christine Fellows, whose songs are featured on College Days, College Nights, which premieres on the Documentary Channel March 1, 2, and 3rd, and will be airing on CBC sometime in the fall. You should check it out, you might learn something...about spring break partying!!! Wooo!!! Too hot for TV!!! Actually we haven't even seen it yet ourselves, so it might not have anything to do with Cancun or beer bongs (don't get your hopes up).

Web Dude Art Show

Hey! If you live in Toronto, check out the art show featuring fantastic pieces by our web dude, James Mejia. The work is mixed media collage on wood. The title of the show is: James Mejia: Selected Works.

He ignored our suggestion which was: James Mejia: Web Dude with selected works

This whole shebang is happening at SPIN Gallery: 1100 Queen Street West and it runs Saturday, February 26th - Sunday, March 20th 2005.

Dude, put your pants back on contest winners

The winner of the Tielli Day jpeg contest is...the naked guy! While we really loved all the time and effort that went into the overwhelming number of entries that we received for this contest, the guy who judged the contest this time got suckered in by the cheap laugh. The winner is Fabian, whose drunken interpretation of White Sock Day left us stunned. Well done? The photo really is priceless and reflects the true spirit of Tielli Day. Our wiener winner wins a Six Shooter t-shirt and a set of Martin Tielli Christmas cards!

Surprisingly, we also have a winner in the moldy rye bread essay contest. For her efforts in saving a Six Shooter employee from eating something truly disgusting, Lydia in Victoria will receive a lovely Six Shooter toque!

Contest

Whoever can send us the best by-line for Captain Tractor's new beer (Captain Tractor's Yellowhead Wheat Ale) wins super awesome new Captain Tractor merch.

Alternate contest:
Whoever writes the best haiku (as judged by us) about Six Shooter records taking over the world wins a copy of our latest releases. Limericks will be disqualified.

Beauty on my friends, beauty on.
