I would certainly be nonplussed if this was true), with four career-defining records from some of Canada’s premiere songwriting powerhouses. New albums from , Danny Michel, Jenn Grant and Amelia Curran together make an incredible collection of revelatory songwriting, inventive production and, most of all, surprises. There is freshness everywhere, from the masterful genre-skipping breadth of Whitehorse’s first full-length, the culture-crossing vision of Danny Michel’s Belizian dream, Jenn Grant’s adventure into the jungle, and Amelia Curran’s bold advances beyond folk horizons (we are blushing at said bold advances).
